Scope
This policy explains how MiMo — Mindful Moments (the “app”) handles information when you use the Android or iOS app, and how this informational website is hosted. MiMo is a wellbeing tool for everyday mindful pauses; it is not medical treatment.
Information kept on your device
MiMo stores the information you choose to give it in a local SQLite database on your device. This can include:
- the display name you enter;
- saved moments, including the prompt, date and time, a 1–5 feeling rating, and any optional note;
- whether a moment is spontaneous or marked as a favorite, and its noticing category when available;
- onboarding, language, appearance, and reminder preferences.
The MiMo developer does not receive this information. The app does not provide a MiMo account or synchronize your entries to a MiMo-operated server.
What MiMo does not collect
MiMo does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising, crash reporting, background location tracking, microphone recording, an AI service, or a cloud backend. We do not sell personal information, and there is no personal information collected by us to sell.
Permissions and device capabilities
Notifications
If you enable gentle reminders, MiMo asks for notification permission and schedules those reminders locally on your device. You can deny the permission or turn reminders off. On Android, the app can receive a device-restart signal so it can restore locally scheduled reminders after a reboot.
Time zone
MiMo reads the device time zone to schedule reminders at the intended local time. The developer does not receive or store your time zone on a server.
Internet access
The app’s core noticing, pause, and saving flows work locally. Internet access is used for optional YouTube content in the Learn area, as described below.
Third-party services
YouTube in the app
Parts of the optional Learn area show video thumbnails and embedded videos provided by YouTube. Opening those parts of the app or playing a video can make a direct connection from your device to Google or YouTube. Those services may receive technical information such as your IP address, device information, and interactions under the Google Privacy Policy. MiMo does not receive YouTube account information or your YouTube viewing history.
This website
This website does not use app-specific cookies, analytics, advertising, contact forms, or externally hosted fonts. It is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process ordinary technical request information, such as IP address and page request data, under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Retention, deletion, and backups
Local app data remains on your device until you clear MiMo’s app storage or uninstall the app. Your device operating system or backup provider may include app data in a device backup according to your own backup settings and that provider’s terms. MiMo does not control those backups.
Security
Keeping data local reduces the information sent over the network, but no device or storage method is completely secure. Protecting your device with a passcode, biometric lock, and current operating-system updates helps protect the information stored in MiMo.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when MiMo’s features or information practices change. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when that happens. Material new data collection will be explained before it is introduced.
